Welcome Luis and Emily
We would like to introduce two new coaches that have joined the Qi Creative team: one new and one returning.
First, we are excited and pleased to welcome back to the team, Coach Luis, Occupational Therapist and Heart Math Trainer!
Coach Luis pays attention everyday to being relaxed, lighthearted, fearless and carefree. He knows that at any given time, we all have a choice in how we respond to what happens around us. His goal is to help others make those choices from a position of peace and hope.
Luis studied occupational therapy in his native Spain and in the UK. After graduating from Queen Margaret University (Edinburgh, Scotland) with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, he gained well rounded experience in several settings until he found his home working with families with special needs. He is particularly interested in what makes people be at their best so he became a HeartMath Coach and Trainer. Now he uses resilience building tools to help others. Coach Luis enjoys being active and playing music; he incorporates these two passions in his professional life. Don’t be surprised if you see him performing around Alberta as part of a ukulele orchestra.
Second, we have the pleasure to introduce and welcome Coach Emily, Speech Language Pathologist.
Emily truly believes in cultivating positivity and happiness in her professional and personal life. By sharing her knowledge and experience in speech language pathology, she hopes to give a voice—and a smile—to children with communication needs. Emily is very passionate about developing her speech and language therapeutic skills and strives to learn something new every day!
Emily graduated from St. John’s University in New York with her Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology. Her past experience includes working with the geriatric population at a nursing care and rehabilitation center. She is also a certified Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities in New York State and has over four years experience working in the public school system. Emily immigrated from the United States in February of 2019 and could not be happier to call Canada home. Emily is passionate about developing speech, language, and social skills in the pediatric population and encourages growth through play. Emily wanted to become a member of the Qi Creative family because she truly believes that being a positive role model and spreading positivity to others in the world creates a meaningful life that is meant to be celebrated. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, hiking, playing with her dog Ranger, reading, listening to music, cooking, and learning new things.
“I began my journey with Qi Creative at the beginning of May and I could not be happier. I have been able to shadow most of the coaching team, from all therapeutic backgrounds. Every session I learn something new and I continue to ask questions and discover new strategies. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the coaches provide success coaching, not only with the children, but also with the family. Being new to providing services in the home, I have already seen the rewarding benefits and progress working in a naturalistic and comfortable setting.
Qi Creative’s philosophy is extremely unique, innovative, and transdisciplinary. The team is truly a family of therapists, specialists, professionals, music-lovers, learners, and passionate people. Everyone has something to share, to teach, to help with, and it’s this support that makes a job feel less like a job, and more like a home. I am so excited to continue this journey with such an amazing organization that celebrates me and supports me in my continued growth as a success coach, speech language pathologist, and person.”
We are grateful to have such awesome people join the Qi Creative team. Coach Luis and Coach Emily, we look forward to Collaborating, Creating, Coaching, and of course, CELEBRATING together.
