Welcome Coach Kris, Occupational Therapist
We are excited to welcome Kris Vincente, Occupational Therapist, to the Qi Creative team!
About Kris
Voted ‘class clown’ by their grad school peers, Coach Kris loves to laugh and make others do the same. Easygoing and open-minded. Excels at sports and taking naps!
Kris graduated from the University of Alberta in 2017 and has been working with children with developmental disabilities and their families ever since.
In high-school, Kris dreamed of a career that would allow her to play every day and never grow up. Being an Occupational Therapist has allowed her to achieve that dream AND has given her the opportunity to learn from so many unique and special families. She especially loves seeing relationships grow as parents and caregivers gain confidence in their ability to support their children to learn new skills.
Outside of work Kris enjoys spending time with her family playing games, eating snacks, and watching movies together. She probably spends too much time on Instagram and not enough time reading books but loves to learn new things regardless of the medium. Her favourite TV show is Jeopardy! and she will never say no to making a puzzle or building a Lego set.
Words from Kris
It’s hard to believe that I’ve already been working at Qi Creative for one month!
In a lot of ways it feels like I’ve been around longer than that which I credit to the warm welcome I received and the sense that everyone belongs and has something to offer at Qi.
This is by far is the most inclusive and supportive work environment I have ever been a part of and I feel really lucky to be here. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the other Coaches and have had the privilege of shadowing and learning from some amazing team members.
I really value Qi’s focus on building relationships within our team, especially after spending so much time working virtually during COVID. It’s important to me to get to know my colleagues and to develop friendships while I’m at work and so I am really happy to be somewhere that sees the value in those relationships too.
I am also LOVING the fact that when we get together at Qi there is always tasty treats involved, can’t complain about that!
I’m looking forward to growing and learning over the next days, months, and years (hopefully!) at Qi creative and am excited about being a part of such a wonderful team. WOOSH!
